Comfort and Infotainment
Comfort and infotainment is all about making the ride enjoyable and easier. It includes everything not necessary for the car to function, but really good to have anyway. This spans a lot of things from radios, to music, to touch screens, to speakers, to Sat Nav, to in car videos. They may be luxuries, but they are luxuries we have come to expect from any car.

 | LDRs are for sensing the level of light. They are used for automatic headlights. If an IR LDR is used along with an IR LED you can make automatic windscreen wipers. |  | MCU The MCU is the Central control. It controls and manages everything. |
 | Potentiometers are used for any analogue input in the car, such as climate control dials, and volume dials. |  | RTCs are required to keep accurate timings. This ensures that all the systems in the car are in sync. |
 | Thermistors are used throughout the car to sense temperature. In the internal space itself for climate control, in the air flow tubes, and in the engine are just a few places. |  | Flash Flash is used as none-volatile memory to store programs and settings, and persistent data. |
 | Switches encompasses all digital switches and are used for everything from lighting, to windows, to door locks. |  | RAM RAM is quick access volatile memory used for variables, and storing temporary information. |
 | ADCs are used to convert analogue inputs, like from thermistors, or potentiometers, to digital inputs which can be got through I2C or SPI. This information is for use by the MCU. |  | Touch screen Driver Touch Screen drivers allow the MCU to receive inputs from touch screens and process it correctly. |
 | Decoder/Encoder Decoders and encoders are used to allow the reading and playing of MP3s and other Audio/Video files.` |  | Display Drivers Display drivers are needed to allow the MCU to use a display screen, they act as a decoding and encoding device between the MCU and the display. |
 | Audio Amplifier High Quality Audio Amplifiers increase the signal from the MCU to the speakers to allow the correct voltage and current for the desired volume. |  | Touch Screens Touch screens are the preferred way of controlling infotainment systems now as they allow an intuitive and user friendly system. |
 | The SD slot allows cars to read media from memory cards to play over speakers or view on the screens. |  | GPS receiver GPS receivers are commonplace in a lot of modern day cars for the Sat Nav and guidance systems. They allow in built route planning and location. |
 | Stepper Motors Stepper motors are used for any high torque low speed accurate motor. E.g. For windows, door locking, wipers, etc. |  | FM/AM/DAB receiver FM receivers have been in cars for a while now, and will stay in cars until FM and AM goes. They are key to providing radio and information whilst on the go. |
 | Speakers |  | Bluetooth Transceiver Bluetooth is used for connecting phones and media players to the car. These allow media to be played as well as phone calls to be placed. |
