Product Overview
The MAX3485AEASA+ is a 3.3V powered, ±20KV ESD protected, 20Mbps and slew rate limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This is a half duplex transceiver optimized for extended cable runs in noisy environments. All receiver features an unit load input impedance allowing up to 32 devices on a single bus. Transceiver includes a fail-safe receiver ensuring that the receiver output (RO) is high when inputs are shorted, open or connected to a tri-state bus. Transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±20KV HBM ESD, ±15KV air-gap ESD and ±8KV contact ESD in accordance to IEC 61000-4-2. It is used in industrial control local area networks, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications and telecommunications.
