Product Overview
The MAX3319EAE+ is a RS232 compatible transceiver in 16 pin SSOP package. This transceiver has low dropout transmitter output stage enabling RS232 compatible performance from 2.25V to 3V with dual charge pump. The regulated dual charge pump provides output voltages of +4.4V (doubling) and -4.3V (inverting) over 2.25V to 3V input voltage range. It requires only four 0.1μF capacitors and operates at data rates up to 460Kbps. The MAX3319 achieves 1μA supply current using Maxim’s revolutionary AutoShutdown Plus feature. This device automatically enters low power shutdown mode when RS232 cable is disconnected or transmitters of connected peripherals are inactive for more than 30seconds. It turns on again when they sense valid transition at any transmitter or receiver input. AutoShutdown Plus saves power without changes to existing BIOS or operating system. The MAX3319 also has logic level output (READY) that asserts when charge pump is regulating and device is ready to begin transmitting.
