Product Overview
The MAX14780EEPA+ is a +5V, ±30KV ESD protected, fail-safe, hot swap RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin DIP package. This half duplex RS485/RS422 transceiver has reduced slew rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables allowing error free data transmission up to 500Kbps. The device has one RS485/RS422 transmitter and one RS485/RS422 receiver. True fail-safe receiver prevents false transitions on receiver input short or open and hot swap eliminates false transitions during power-up or hot insertion. The MAX14780 is used in lighting systems.
