MAX3292CPD+

The MAX3292CPD+ is a RS485/RS422 transceiver with pre-emphasis for high speed, long distance communication in 14 pin DIP package. This high speed transceiver has one driver and one receiver. It contains driver pre-emphasis circuitry which extends distance and increases data rate of reliable communication by reducing intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by long cables. The MAX3292 is programmable for data rates up to 10Mbps by using a single external resistor. This full duplex device operates from a single +5V supply and offers low current shutdown mode that reduces supply current to 100nA. The device has driver output short circuit current limiting and fail-safe receiver input that provides logic high output if input is open circuit. A 1/4 unit load receiver input impedance allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus.
