Product Overview
LT®1764A is a low noise/dropout regulator optimized for fast transient response. Quiescent current is well controlled, it does not rise in dropout as it does with many other regulators. In addition to fast transient response, the LT1764A has very low output voltage noise which makes the device ideal for sensitive RF supply applications. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse current protection. Typical applications are 3.3V to 2.5V logic power supply, post regulator for switching supplies.
- Minimum input voltage is 1.7V typical at ILOAD = 0.5A, TA = 25°C
- Fixed output voltage is 1.5V
- Dropout voltage is 0.34V at ILOAD = 3A, TA = 25°C
- Output voltage noise is 40µVRMS (COUT = 10µF, ILOAD = 3A, BW = 10Hz to 100kHz)
- Quiescent current in shutdown is 1µA at VIN = 6V, V active-low SHDN = 0V
- Current limit is 4A typical at VIN = 7V, VOUT = 0V, TA = 25°C
- No protection diodes needed
- 5-lead plastic DD package
- Operating junction temperature range from –40°C to 125°C
