Product Description
Würth Elektronik’s WE-EPLE USB 2.0 type A jack is the world’s first USB connector with an integrated EMC filter and ESD protection.
It is pad-compatible with most conventional USB connectors and has the same dimensions. Existing designs are transformed into EMC-compatible designs with ease.
The integrated EMC filter eliminates broadband interference on voltage and signal lines, while being almost invisible to the signal lines. This results in:
•Vcc filter impedance above 100 Ω in the 20 MHz range to far in excess of 1 GHz
•Common-mode suppression at 240 MHz far in excess of 250 Ω
•ESD suppression at levels of low 10 V at level 4 ESD pulses with 15 kV.
These connectors are compatible with the USB 2.0 standard.

Circuit protection (without additional redesign due to EMI noise reduction); Most USB applications; Applications with very limited space.
ESD protection
Provides ESD protection for each channel to: IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ±15 kV (air), ±8 kV (contact); IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) (5/50 ns) 20 A (I/O), 40 A VDD; IEC 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 6 A (8/20 µs).
