Product Description
Wireless power was proposed and demonstrated by Serbian-American genius Nikola Tesla in the early 20th century but was not applied on a commercial basis until recent times.
Now Würth Elektronik and Texas Instruments have joined forces to bring you this Qi-compliant, 5W Wireless Power Demonstration Kit to let developers test or integrate a wireless power solution into a product design.
Qi (pronounced "Chee") is a standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium in 2009 for inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4cm.
The Qi system comprises a power transmission pad and a compatible receiver in a portable device. To use the system, the mobile device is placed on top of the power transmission pad, which charges it via resonant inductive coupling.
