TekSmartLab™: Network-based Instrument Management Solution for Increased Lab Efficiency

Tektronix offers the industry's first network-based instrument management solution for teaching labs, enabling instructors to set up entire fleets of instruments with one click.

The TekSmartLab™, with software TSL3000B and hardware TBX3000A is a major leap forward from traditional lab solutions, in which all the instruments had to be configured individually.

It supports up to 400 instruments, on 100 test benches, on a single platform and is capable of controlling all those instruments via wi-fi instead of having to connect them all individually via Ethernet (LAN) cables.

Students can retrieve and save the test results wirelessly via their smart devices, instead of having to use USB thumb drives.

Meanwhile, professors can use their central dashboard to load instrument configurations associated with different course requirements and then distribute them to up to 400 instruments with a single mouse click. They can also check a specific test bench’s instrument status and measurement contents and save a student’s measurement results into a report.

Instrument asset information is recorded automatically with high accuracy, whereas lab
managers in traditional teaching labs have to record that data manually one instrument at a time.

Naturally, the system supports most Tektronix and Keithley instruments. These include:
