Silicon Labs CMEMS® Programmable Oscillator Series

Silicon Labs’ Si50x CMEMS® general-purpose oscillators are designed for low-cost, high-shock applications. Their single-chip construction provides lower cost, greater reliability and better aging than traditional crystal oscillators of the same class.

They are highly robust against shock and vibration, offer ±20 ppm frequency stability guaranteed for 10 years, and are drop-in compatible to traditional XOs in the same class.

The term CMEMS comes from the contraction of two acronyms: CMOS+MEMS. It is the first technology of its kind to allow direct post-processing of high-quality MEMS layers on top of Silicon Labs' advanced RF/mixed-signal CMOS technology (0.18 µm and below), thereby leveraging the scalability of state-of-the-art CMOS manufacturing as a modular back-end-of-line option attached to the same manufacturing line used to fabricate advanced CMOS wafers.

Common applications include general purpose microcontrollers, industrial control, IP cameras, surveillance systems, metering, home and office automation, security systems and sleep clocking.
