Panasonic MA Active IR Motion / Proximity Sensor

Product Description

The new Panasonic MA Motion Sensors (AMA1, AMBA1, 2, 3 Series) are active infrared (area reflective) sensors and ideal for human detection. Built-in oscillation circuit and a external triggering types, as well as short, middle and long distance detection types are available.

Changing light conditions and bright daylight measuring up to 30k lux at the sensor’s surface will not affect the performance of the sensor, which is 10mm wide and 20mm high. The package depth has been reduced to 12.7mm, ensuring a low product footprint

The signal timing is adjustable so that the beam frequency of each adjacent sensor will not interfere with the other. For adjacent use, there is a version with external trigger input.

The proximity switches have a detection distance of 5 to 200cm with NPN and PNP outputs and operating Voltage ranges from 4.5 to 5.5Vdc or in a wider voltage version from 5.5 to 27 Vdc.

Applications for the Panasonic MA Motion Sensors include the detection of the presence of people in front of machines, at automatic doors or in security gates and as non-contact switches for hygiene and medical applications.

The sensors are also expected to appeal to the water-based product market (e.g. toilets, automated taps, automatic lighting); stores and financial institutions (e.g. automatic doors, lighting, ATMs, visitor or intruder detection); amusement machines (lighting for game displays); and the medical field (non-contact switches).
