New super-sensitive Infrared sensor for non-contact thermal measurement that makes full use of proprietary Omron MEMS sensing technology.
Operating on the principle of infrared radiation sensing, the D6T sensor is ideal for human detection; even for stationary objects a normal PIR structure would struggle to detect. The D6T is capable of monitoring an area for a variety of heat sources for energy saving, security or safety monitoring.
The sensor can also capable of providing temperature information; easily analyze optimal temperature levels of a room and instantly detect unusual changes making it perfect for helping detect factory line stoppages or discovering areas of overheating, vital for early preventing machine damage or fires.
The D6T can also measure the temperature of an entire area.
Signals generated by the sensor output allow temperature information to be assigned to a particular cell (1x8=8 or 4x4=16 pixels) meaning that the sensor can determine the position of any sensed object. This means that the D6T can monitor any changes to a specific area and trigger any corrections that are necessary, from switching off the lights, adjusting the thermostat or setting of an alarm.

Unlike typical pyroelectric human presence sensors the D6T thermal sensor is able to detect the presence of stationary humans by not only detecting body heat but sensing actual changes in temperature.
