Product Description

Microchip’s dsPIC33E family of digital signal controllers (DSCs) features a 70 MIPS dsPIC® DSC core with integrated DSP and enhanced on-chip peripherals. With a range of advanced functionalities including High-Speed PWM, sophisticated Power Management, Direct Memory Access and 24 to 32 analog channels, these versatile devices are ideal for designing high performance, precision motor control systems with energy efficient output, quieter operation, excellent range and extended life.

Core: 16-bit CPU

Features include code efficient architecture, two 40-bit wide accumulators, single-cycle (MAC/MPY) with Dual Data Fetch, single-cycle mixed-sign MUL plus hardware divide and 32-bit multiply support.

Clock Management

2% internal oscillator, programmable PLLs and oscillator clock sources, fail-safe clock monitor (FSCM), independent watchdog timer and fast wake-up and start-up.

Power Management

Low-power management modes (sleep, idle, doze), integrated power-on reset and brown-out reset, 1.0mA/MHz dynamic current (typical), 60 µA IPD Current (typical).

Input/Output

Sink/Source 10mA on all pins, 5V tolerant, selectable open-drain, pull-ups and pull-downs, up to 5 mA overvoltage clamp current and external interrups on all I/O pins.

High-Speed PWM

Up to 7 PWM pairs with independent timing, dead time for rising and falling edges, 8.32 ns PWM resolution, programmable fault inputs and flexible trigger configurations for ADC conversions.

Advanced Analog Features

Two independent ADC modules, flexible and independent ADC trigger sources, up to three Analog Comparator modules and 24-32 analog channels.

Timers/Output Compare/Input Capture

27 general purpose timers, 16 IC modules, Peripheral Pin Select (PPS) to allow function remap, Real-Time Clock and Calendar (RTCC) module.

Communication Interfaces

Features include USB 2.0 OTG-compliant full-speed interface, four UART modules (15Mbps), four 4-wire SPI modules (15Mbps), PPS to allow function remap, Parallel Master Port (PMP) and Programmable Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC).

Direct Memory Access (DMA)

15 channel DMA with user-selectable priority arbitration, UART, USB, SPI, ADC, ECAN, IC, OC, timers, DCI/I2S and PMP.
