Robust handheld IP65 enclosures from Hammond
Hammond’s 1553W range of enclosures is ergonomically designed for hand-held comfort. These enclosures feature a one-piece silicone gasket and tongue-and-groove construction to ensure IP65 compliance.

Product Description
Hammond’s 1553W range of enclosures is ergonomically designed for hand-held comfort. These enclosures feature a one-piece silicone gasket and tongue-and-groove construction to ensure IP65 compliance.
The enclosures are moulded in flame-retardant -ABS plastic (FRABS), which is UV stabilised, with a grey, overmoulded, soft plastic grip. The top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad, while the front panel is an integral part of the top half of the enclosure.
They are available in three sizes with a choice of two colours for the top half – light grey (RAL 7035) or black (RAL 9011). The soft side "grip" plastic colour is grey (RAL 7012).
Printed circuit board standoffs are moulded into both the top and bottom of the enclosure (see drawings or photos for more details). Standoff screws (M2) are not included.
The enclosure is secured with black Philips, stainless steel, machine screws, threaded into integral brass bushings, making them perfect for applications where repetitive assembly and disassembly are required.
