Product Overview
The MAX13413EESA+ is a RS485 transceiver with integrated low dropout regulator and AutoDirection control in 8 pin NSOIC package. This half-duplex RS485/RS422 compatible transceiver has an internal low dropout regulator (LDO), one driver and one receiver. The internal LDO allows the part to operate from an unregulated power supply of up to 28V. Internal LDO generates a 5V ±10% power supply that is used to power its internal circuitry. This device has a 5V output VREG that allows the user to power additional external circuitry with up to 20mA to further reduce external components and the AutoDirection reduces the number of optical isolators needed in isolated applications. This device is not slew-rate limited allowing transmit speeds up to 16Mbps. It is used in isolated RS485 interfaces, telecomm equipment and utility meters.
