Product Overview

The DS1339AU+ is a low current, I2C, serial real time clock in 8 pin µSOP package. It is a low power clock/date device with two programmable time of day alarms and programmable square wave output. Address and data are transferred serially through an I2C bus. The clock/date provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and year information. The date at end of the month is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days including leap year compensation up to 2200. The clock operates in either 24 hour or 12 hour format with AM/PM indicator. The DS1339A has a built-in power sense circuit that detects power failures and automatically switches to backup supply maintaining time, date and alarm operation. It is used in telecommunications (routers, switches and servers), utility meters, vending machine, thermostat and modem.
  • Supply voltage range from 1.71V to 5.5V and backup supply voltage from 1.3V to 3.7V
  • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
  • VCC active current of 450µA, VCC standby current of 200µA and timekeeping current of 300nA
  • Provides system flexibility with multiple programmable features
  • Drop-in replacement for DS1339 device
  • UL recognized
  • Supports crystals with up to 60Kohm ESR
  • Maintains time even during power outage with backup supply pin
  • Automatic power fail detect and switch circuitry trickle charge capability
  • Supports VCC from 1.8V to 5V, oscillator stop flag and oscillator runs down to 1.15V
