Product Description

The MCW 0406 AT resistors are designed to deliver stable performance in harsh environmental conditions. With high power- and high temperature ratings the MCW can replace larger case sizes such 1206 chip resistors, while simultaneously dramatically improving the thermal cycling behaviour.

With a proven ability to withstand severe accelerated humidity tests, the MCW 0406’s temperature cycling performance is comparable to 0402 packages, able to operate at high film temperatures of 175 °C for 1000 hours, where traditional resistors are typically rated at only 70 °C with film temperatures of 125 °C or 155 °C.

The “twisted” termination style of the MCW 0406 AT allows optimized heat dissipation from the component to the PCB meaning that the professional series of MCW devices feature high power ratings of 300 mW at an ambient temperature of 85 °C. On a four-layer FR4 printed circuit board the MCW 0406 AT devices handle up to 3000 cycles of “Rapid Change of Temperature” from - 40 °C to 125 °C.

Add to this amazing stability, extraordinary high power ratings, and temperature cycling performance the MCW 0406 AT is also able to maintain an incredibly small case sizes comparable to the 0402 while matching the power rating of larger and powerful 1206 resistors.

Ideal for Harsh Environments

With high power & temperature ratings with excellent power cycling allows these devices to be used in harsh and high-temperature environments.

Tiny Footprint

While matching the power of 1206 series resistors the 0406 is able to match the footprint of the far smaller 0402 series.

Twisted Termination

Twisted Termination style allows optimized heat dissipation from the component to the PCB meaning that the professional series of MCW devices feature high power ratings of 300 mW at an ambient temperature of 85 °C.
