Product Description

The new SMP-MAX symmetrical board-to-board adapters are designed to eliminate the risk of assembly errors during manufacturing.
As the demand for ever smaller electronic products grows so does the need to keep components closer and precisely aligned.
More than 60 specific SMP-MAX connector designs have been developed over an 18-month period for global telecom customers making SMP-MAX one of the fastest growing series in the RF industry.

SMP-MAX connectors are designed to minimise three types of misalignment - radial angular and axial. They incorporate a "catcher's mitt" funnel on the receptacle to help with funnelling the connectors which is critical in blindmate conditions.

The SMP-MAX can handle a maximum board-to-board distance tolerance of up to at least 0.078" (2 mm) gap without a spring - which is 300% more than the standard SMP. It also features a 3 degree tilt (radial travel) it has an operating frequency range of DC-6 GHz a 1.2 max VSWR guaranteed up to 3 GHz and it can handle up to 300 Watts of power at 2.7 GHz.
SMP-MAX is also backwards-compatible with earlier receptacles to enable continued use on existing boards.

Patented Impedance Matching Insulator

Optimised for a larger operating gap between connectors with no significant changes to VSWR. Can accommodate up to .078" (2 mm) gap without a spring which is four times more than standard SMP.

Testing functionality

Many test adaptors and test probe available to allow for laboratory measurement or production test. Codification R191.552.xxx & R191.553.xxx

Typical applications

Board-to-Board applications for base stations RRH/RRU 3G 4G LTE Wimax and more. Also for broadcast military S band.
