Product Description

The Texas Instruments CC3100 BoosterPack dramatically simplifies the implementation of Internet connectivity and delivers the flexibility to add Wi-Fi to an external host microcontroller, providing all you need to easily create Internet of Things solutions – security, quick connection, cloud support and more.

The CC3100 can run on two AA batteries for over a year, which for the first time brings embedded Wi-Fi capabilities to battery-operated end-equipment.

The platform gives customers the flexibility to use any microcontroller (MCU) with the CC3100 device. This helps reduce development time, lower manufacturing costs, save board space, ease certification and minimise the RF expertise required.

The BoosterPack comes with driver support and SimpleLink Wi-Fi software SDK with 25+ sample applications, and documentation needed to use the SDK. It also contains the Flash Programmer, a Command Line Tool for flashing SW, Configuring Network and Software parameters (SSID, Access Point Channel, Network Profile etc), System and User Files (Certificates, Web pages etc).

The CC3100 Boosterpack can be connected to the TI MCU Launchpad; to a PC for MCU Emulation using SimpleLink Studio with CC31XXEMUBOOST; or to other platforms through pins (refer to Programming Guide).

Note: The CC3100 Boosterpack can’t be flashed (reprogrammed) without the use of the CC31XXEMUBOOST emulator.

Typical applications

Home automation; Safety and security; Health and fitness; Cloud connectivity / IoT; Smart plug; Metering.
