PIC32MZ is Microchip’s latest family of PIC32 MCUs. It provides class-leading performance of 330 DMIPS and 3.28 CoreMarks™/MHz, along with dual-panel, live-update Flash (up to 2 MB), large RAM (512 KB) and numerous connectivity peripherals — including a 10/100 Ethernet MAC, Hi-Speed USB MAC/PHY (a first for PIC® MCUs) and dual CAN ports.
The development tools are based upon either the 100- or 144-pin superset PIC32MZ2048ECH, which allows developers to fully evaluate all the key features of this new family.
The PIC32MZ EC Starter Kit (DM320006) provides the easiest and lowest cost method to experience the high performance and advanced peripherals integrated in the PIC32MZ Embedded Connectivity MCUs.
This starter kit features a socket that can accommodate RJ-45 plug-in Ethernet connectors from various vendors for prototyping and development. This starter kit may be fitted to the new PIC32 Multimedia Expansion Board II (DM320005-2) or it can be used with various existing PIC32 development tools by using the new PIC32MZ Starter Kit adapter (AC320006). A new Plug-in Module (MA320012) is available for use with Microchip’s popular Explorer 16 Development Platform.
The Multimedia Expansion Board II (DM320005-2) is a highly integrated, compact and flexible development platform which uses the PIC32MZ Starter Kit. The MEB-II kit features a 4.3” WQVGA PCAP touch display daughterboard. The kit also has an onboard 24-bit stereo audio codec, VGA camera, 802.11 b/g wireless module, Bluetooth HCI transceiver, temperature sensor, microSD slot and analogue accelerometer.
