Product Overview

The LTM8021IV#PBF is a 500mA step-down DC/DC µModule (Power Module) with switching controller, power switches, inductor and all support components. It can deliver up to 500mA of DC output current with only bulk external input and output capacitors. This module provides a precisely regulated output voltage programmable via one external resistor from 0.8 to 5VDC. Only an output and bulk input capacitor is needed to finish the design. A built-in soft-start timer is adjustable with just a resistor and capacitor. It has a fixed 1.1MHz switching frequency. For any given output voltage, the duty cycle falls as the input voltage rises. The LTM8021 is a step-down converter, so a minimum amount of headroom is required to keep the output in regulation. For most applications at full load, the input must be about 1.5V above the desired output.
