The FRDM-K22F is an ultra-low-cost high performance development platform for the latest Kinetis K22 MCUs. It's the second Freedom board featuring a Kinetis K Next-Generation MCU, following the popular FRDM-K64F.
It is aimed at USB applications with a high level of integration thanks to the crystal-less feature of its new USB controller (48MHz external crystal saved on the BOM cost) and the lower-power capabilities of this new generation of ARM Cortex-M4 MCUs.
The FRDM-K22F is based on a Kinetis MK22FN512VLH12 device featuring an ARM Cortex-M4 core @120MHz with Floating Point Unit and embeds 512KB Flash, 128KB RAM in a LQFP64 Package.
The new OpenSDA v2 supports CMSIS-DAP interface software which provides: Mass Storage Device (MSD flash programming, CMSIS-DAP debug over USB and a virtual serial port. The FRDM-K22F is also packed with features to enable rapid prototyping, including a 6-axis accelerometer and magnetometer FXOS8700CQ, a RGB LED, two user push buttons and Arduino R3 I/O connectors.

MicroSD card slot for operation over SPI; header for add-on RF module: nRF24L01+ Nordic 2.4 GHz radio; header for add-on Bluetooth module: JY-MCU BT board V1.05 BT.
