Development Board featuring MC9S08MM128 8bit Microcontroller
The STAR-XL-S08 is a development board featuring MC9S08MM128 8bit microcontroller. On a single board this board combines a 8bit HCS08 MM128MM128 microcontroller, MMA8451Q three axis accelerometer, MC34673MC34673 battery charger and a open source BDM interface. Demonstrate and evaluate any or all of these devices, with the preloaded demo program that illustrates orientation, shake, tap, freefall and transient mode applications, at three user selectable sensitivities and two accuracies (8bit and 14bit data). The XL_STAR even automatically goes into sleep or wake mode based on movement of the board. The XL_STAR is a double sided board. It may be simplest to imagine that the two sides are separate circuit boards that are stuck together. In normal use, when the XL_STAR board is not connected to a PC for debugging, most of the circuit on the bottom side of the board is not powered. The only thing in use is the battery.

Do not update the OSBDM firmware on the XL_STAR board and doing so wrongly can render the board unusable.
When using XL_STAR for USB development, via J1 (top side of the XL_STAR), the XL_STAR must be powered via a USB cable connected to J6 (underside of the XL_STAR) before a USB cable is connected to J1.
